Sayleigh is finally here.

The day started off at 5 o'clock in the morning. We got to the hospital at 6 o'clock and checked in. When we got to the room mommy was a 2. About 8:30 Dr. Adams came in and broke her water, and she was already a 5. It wasn't long after that and she wanted the drugs. After the epidural she was already a 7. Then about 12:15 the nurse told every one in the room to leave except for daddy. Sayleigh gave us a scare about that time because the nurses couldn't find her heart beat. Then the pushing began, and daddy was scared because he didn't know what was going on. After the first push all the nurses said, "We can see her head don't stop." Daddy looked down and could see a big head of hair. After about 30 minutes of pushing Dr. Adams shows up, and we were later informed by the family who were waiting in the waiting room that she was running to the room. After 20 minutes or so with Dr. Adams holding the catchers mitt she told us he was going to have to use the tongs. About 10 minutes later little Sayleigh Amanda was born. YAY!!!! After they cleaned her off they took her to mommy before they even weighed her. The baby doctor said that she worked hard for her so she deserved it. After Kelli getting to hold her for 15 minutes or so they took her away and weighed and measured her and poked her with some needles and checked her heart beat and pulse and temperature. She weighed 8 lbs 5.5 oz. She is
20 1/2 in. long and her head is 13 3/4 in. Her chest is the same as her head, and she was born at 1:28 p.m. on the 26 th day of May in 2009. After all of that it was daddy's turn to hold her and he completely lost it. Although if you ask him he will tell you that he didn't shed a tear. That must be the tough 'ol country boy in him. He wanted me to say he is sorry to anyone that was in there after she was born. He was so caught up in the moment that he couldn't take his eyes off of his beautiful daughter. When they finally took her away he told me that she was beautiful then paused for a second and said, "she looks nothing like you." He is so sweet isn't he. After about 2 hours we moved up to the third floor. I'm not going to sit here and try to tell you who all came to see us cause there was a ton of them. Although I will say the most important person that came was Sayleigh. We are still in the hospital because her biliruben is an eleven. Which means she has slight jaundice. The last picture is her in her tanning bed....as Lester calls it. Her god mother showed up today and Sayleigh was so happy to see her.

The looooong night before!

The wait on the dilate.

Fresh out of the oven.
